About us

Meet Machon Menoras Hachochmah.

We transform
general studies
in yeshiva
education.

How?

Yeshivos struggle to motivate excellence in General Studies. The Torah speaks to every facet of life, therefore we can teach a comprehensive and intellectually stimulating General Studies curriculum through the lens of the Torah. Machon Menoras Hachochmah guides students to perform above peers in standardized statewide testing, reinforce values learned in Torah classes, and respond to secular perspectives.

For teachers to best present dynamic lessons, they must be:

  • Instructed in the Machon’s dual curricular methodology
  • Trained in advanced educational modalities
  • Harness technology and cloud-based resources
  • Consistently collaborate with colleagues
  • Secular Content with Torah Lens
  • Preparation for the 21st Century with Educational Technology
  • Classroom Management and Behavior with Task-Oriented Education

We value career
readiness, student
engagement and
proven results.

As seen by our…

Machon Menoras Hachochmah’s General Studies curricula are thoughtfully aligned with national Common Core standards. This ensures that yeshiva students do not sacrifice academic excellence as their commitment to Torah and its values are reinforced.

  • Electronic Resources: Course readers, worksheets, teacher guides, and multimedia material are made available in digital form in order to create multiple options for dynamic classroom integration.
  • Scaffolding: All material produced by the Machon is designed to accommodate for the gradual learning process. This allows students the excitement of tangible growth in writing, reading, and critical thinking over the course of their high school education.
  • Differentiated Instruction: Alternative assignments are incorporated into each lesson plan, allowing for teachers to meet student’s individual needs.
  • Online Forum: All participating educators nationwide collaborate in a custom forum designed to support best practices and sustain each curriculum’s continuous improvement.
  • Development and Beta Testing: All courses are developed and initially deployed by the highly trained educational experts at Mesivta Kesser Torah of Baltimore.
  • Pilot: Following the infancy period of each course within the Mesivta, the Machon partners with a small number of select schools that help further enhance and refine the material.
  • Growth: The Machon’s Torah-based curricula is promoted through peer networks that will continue to play a supporting role as the program is spread and adapted across North American yeshivos.

Addressing yeshivos’ most pressing challenges

Machon Menoras Hachochmah

The Machon is committed to tackling the most pressing challenges facing students, parents, and administrators today. Through our multitiered and research-based approach, we have isolated the necessary ingredients required to enable talmidim to feel a greater sense of shleimus in their daily lives.

Torah Lens

By addressing the challenges of secular content presented in many of today’s General Studies courses, the Machon has produced curricula that present relevant information and teach crucial skills through a prism of Torah values.

Educational Technology

With a sense of purpose, understanding of value, and feeling of ownership for one’s work, talmidim enrolled in Machon courses experience their education as active participants and not as passive listeners.

Task-Oriented Education

Through the use of dynamic educational tools, cutting edge technologies, and tested methodologies, the Machon has constructed a course of study that will prepare talmidim for the challenges of the 21st century while developing a sense of digital citizenship.
